Blushing Brides: Behind the scenes

Behind the scenes of the bridal themed shoot at the palatial studio estate. During preparations I took a moment to do some documentary behind-the-scenes work, recording the creative process in progress.  Here’s Eonet doing her thing.

Eonet doing her thing...

I can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoyed directing this shoot — and still enjoying it all over again as I go through the editing process.   The girls really made this a home run, I mean WAY outta there, upper deck shot and I couldn’t be happier with it all.   More shots to be added soon to the preceding threads.  Check back often…

Blushing Brides: Bridal Themed Studio Shoot, Vol. 2

As promised, more from this bridal themed shoot is one the way.  I decided to add separate for each model.  This is Alicia who was also kind enough to lend us her beauty for this project.  Once again, the makeup artistry was provided by the talented Eonet Brown.

Blushing Brides: Saturday’s In-Studio Bridal Shoot

I had a wonderful opportunity to team with the talented Eonet Brown and three talented and beautiful models (Jaclyn Wells, Alicia Pope-Richardson and Alison Bohannon Todd) for a bridal themed photoshoot in the palatial studio location this past Saturday. I couldn’t be more happy with what came out of this shoot. This is just a preview of the avalanche of beauty that arrived on that day…

Forthcoming updates from this wildly successful session will be added to this post as we go along, so keep checking back for more…

Natalie & Jaclyn

This Wednesday I was invited to take part in a shoot conceived by fellow Exposure.Detroiter, Paul Nichol in West Bloomfield, MI.  He called the concept “Smoke on the Water”, inspired by the song, and it involved a couple in formal wear rushing though shallow lake water to escape a fire in a nearby casino, chateau or what have you — a location shoot, really fun stuff.

I will post some of the final result here shortly, but in the meantime I do have this.  During the down time I had a chance to squeeze in some improvised portraits of the models who were on hand, Natalie Jenkins and Jaclyn Wells.

Model Natalie Jenkins

This first shot is of Natalie.  After we got the lighting and the smoke machines going I was free to take her to the side and do some single-light-source improv with her when, suddenly, this happened.

This next image was actually captured earlier as we were prepping for the shoot, waiting for the sun to fall a little more.  Paul and I doing prep work and taking test shots.  The sun wasn’t in perfect position for Paul’s concept but for portraits it was spot-on…

Jaclyn & Charles

Posing with Jaclyn here is Charles who doesn’t model, he’s actually Paul’s son, but he was there to help out.

I’m working on doing more work the two ladies  in the near future.  More details on that are coming soon.   Check back often for updates.

UPDATE:  More of Natalie, this done processed with a different feel than the others.
